In an excellent review for the new eONE-EIGHTY, off.road.cc has given it a very impressive 4.5/5 overall score, saying that it's "a monster truck of a bike that handles rough trails at speed with ease. It’s a sure-footed and stable ride that begs not to be held back".

As the first MERIDA model to be equipped with the full-power Bosch CX drive unit, the eONE-EIGHTY has been designed as a hard-hitting machine designed to take on the biggest bike park features and toughest trails, using 180 mm of travel at either end controlled a highly refined suspension platform. The reviewer agreed that the bike hits the bullseye there, saying that it is a "hard-charging monster truck of a bike that can lap bike parks all day" and that "when the bike is up to speed, it tracks the ground like nothing else I’ve ridden".

However, the testing revealed the bike's hidden depths, the tester noting that: "the bike has proven to be more versatile than I expected and less of an all-out brute" before adding that "thanks to the short chain stays and mullet set up, the eOne-Eighty tips into corners and changes direction surprisingly easily".

It's this balanced geometry and keenly position kit choices that mean it more than a one-trick pony, adding that "good spec and some well-tuned suspension [means] this bike remains unflustered in all but the tightest of tech", though "the generous stack height certainly helps give a strong position for riding steep descents".
